In June last year, Tropical Storm Mawar ended British Adventurer, Sarah Outen’s bid to row solo across the North Pacific from Japan to Canada.  Sarah then spent nine months in the UK preparing mentally and physically to restart her journey with a second attempt.

She is now rowing from Japan to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska – a journey that has taken 5 months.  She decided to change her route due to adverse weather conditions and winds hampering her progress towards Canada.

Starting in her kayak under Tower Bridge on 1st April 2011, Sarah made it to the east coast of Japan in November 2011 after cycling and kayaking over 11,00 miles. Sarah was then out on the North Pacific for 25 days before being rescued by the Japan Coast Guard. Following the North Pacific row, she will kayak through Aleutians to the mainland, cycle across North America and Canada, before rowing solo across the Atlantic Ocean home to the UK.
